#one in five

We want to see a world in which poor mental health does not define young people’s lives or hold them back from achieving their full potential. We believe that all children and young people should be able to get the right help at the right time.

Our contribution

Our contribution is to fund, connect and strengthen the organisations and people improving young people’s mental health in the UK – from early support, to research and policy influence.
Who we are - The Prudence Trust

We fund innovation and scale

We make grants to support innovative solutions and activities which help prevent poor mental health, and also those which intervene early at the first sign of problems. Scaling up effective solutions is critical to meeting the level of need and we look for effective projects which have potential for much greater impact.

We want to advance understanding

We want to fund work that increases understanding of what is effective, and then share what we and others learn to advance widespread confidence in what works. We continually learn from both frontline charities and researchers, and we seek to bring those worlds closer together for greater translation of effective solutions.

Prudence Trust build long term partnerships

We partner for the long-term

Addressing better mental health for young people will take time and so we build long-term relationships with leaders and organisations who share our ambitions for change. We offer support to organisations in the field to become stronger, more effective and more capable of responding to the scale of need.

Working together

We believe in the power of collaboration to shape solutions and strengthen the sector. We use our learning and networks to bring the sector together to build coherence and confidence in the field and to influence positive change.

Prudence Trust - Who we are

Very few people now doubt the importance of mental health and illness to individuals, families and society. What makes the Prudence Trust different is that they want to help build  the evidence to decide what to do and, what not to do.
