Our impact

The Wildlife Trusts

The Wildlife Trusts is a national movement of local Wildlife Trusts working together to protect nature and help people connect with the natural world across the UK.

The Wildlife Trusts

What it does

The Wildlife Trusts support people of all ages to engage with nature in ways that benefit wellbeing, through local wildlife trusts delivering activities in communities, schools and accessible green spaces. Their work includes programmes designed to help young people build a sense of connection to nature during adolescence, a period when engagement with nature often declines.

What we fund

We are funding The Wildlife Trusts to deliver an ambitious, prevention focused national programme that supports young people to connect meaningfully with nature and strengthen their mental wellbeing. The programme will be piloted through a group of trailblazer Wildlife Trusts and then rolled out nationally, reaching over 28,000 young people through schools and local youth settings. Our funding supports the development, delivery and learning from this programme.

With support from The Prudence Trust, The Wildlife Trusts can help young people connect with nature at an important time in their lives. This programme allows us to work through local Wildlife Trusts to improve mental wellbeing by giving young people positive, meaningful experiences in nature. It will help thousands of young people across the UK feel healthier, happier and more connected to the natural world.
