Our impact

SWEDA

SWEDA (Somerset and Wessex Eating Disorders Association) is a specialist charity providing support for people affected by eating disorders and their families across the South and West of England.

SWEDA supporting people with eating disorders

What it does

SWEDA provides specialist support for people affected by eating disorders and their families, including counselling, guidance, nutritional information and a helpline. Alongside direct support, SWEDA leads wider collaboration across the sector through REDCAN, an alliance of regional specialist eating disorder charities working together to share practice and raise awareness.

What we fund

We have funded SWEDA’s counselling support for young people affected by disordered eating and the development of its parents support programme. We have also supported the development of REDCAN, enabling regional specialist charities to collaborate on shared learning, awareness raising and advocacy.

SWEDA

As a direct result of funding provided by the Prudence Trust, SWEDA have been able to increase the service that we can offer to children, young people and their families. Our Parent Support Worker offers parents and caregivers guidance, reassurance, and practical tools to help them to navigate the challenges presented when their child experiences disordered eating.
