Our impact
Anna Freud
What it does
Anna Freud combines research, training and practice to improve how mental health support for children and young people is designed and delivered. It works with professionals, policy makers, and young people to strengthen understanding of what supports mental wellbeing, and to translate evidence into practical approaches that can be used across education, health and community settings.
What we fund
We are funding Anna Freud’s Prevention First programme, which aims to strengthen the evidence base for preventing mental health problems and to make that evidence easier for services, funders and policy makers to use in frontline practice. Our funding supports research synthesis, the development of accessible practice briefings and training, and work to connect evidence with policy and system reform.
The best way to tackle mental ill health is by reducing the risk of problems developing in the first place. We’re incredibly grateful for this funding, which will help us to research new approaches to prevention and translate that into practice, giving professionals and policymakers the tools they need to ensure more children and young people – no matter their background – have the opportunity to thrive.
