Action For Children
Action for Children is a national charity supporting children, young people and families across the UK through a wide range of local and national services.
What it does
Action for Children provides support to children and young people facing a range of challenges, including mental health difficulties, neglect and abuse, poverty, disability and caring responsibilities. Its work includes early help and crisis support, services for children in care and care leavers, fostering and residential care, and practical support for parents and carers.
What we fund
Our funding supports Action for Children to expand Parent Talk, its free webchat, phone and WhatsApp service, by increasing the number of Parenting Coaches available. This helps more parents and carers get timely, practical support when they are worried about their child’s mental health, including issues such as school refusal and SEND.
When I initially got in touch with Parent Talk I was in tears, but the coach helped me get out of that panicked state and into a better place. It meant a lot to me.
